Salt HorseHere are images from our last evening-length work, Color Field, produced by the Northwest Film Forum, March 2014.
In Salt Horse’s Color Field, unique and often-unseen spaces are activated throughout the Northwest Film Forum generating kinetic architectures of shape, color and form. Images and scenarios arise and dissolve - a large eye of light soars above the horizon, a man emerges fully and then disappears in plain sight, and a blackened corner harbors a hovering body. The piece begins in an installation of site-specific performances throughout the Forum, and then collects into the theater where these images merge and abstract through the amplification of design, color, physicality and sonic texturing. Abstract Expressionist painters such as Stella, Frankenthaler, and Gorky are sources of inspiration for Color Field. Joining Salt Horse (Corrie Befort, Beth Graczyk, Angelina Baldoz, and Jason E Anderson) is a vibrant cast of dancers including Ariana Bird, Belle Wolf, Kathleen Hunt and Steven Gomez.
